The Chilean hazelnut


The Gevuina avellana tree, Chilean hazel or Neufen in mapudungun, is a beautiful evergreen tree that is native to southern regions of Chile. The tree can reach up to 20 meters tall and bears small nuts. The seeds are eaten raw, cooked in boiling water or toasted and contain high amounts of good quality oil, suitable for both food and for cosmetic applications.


Cosmetic uses : Chilean Hazelnut Oil possesses a significantly higher content of monounsaturated fats (80%) than most lipids.
